Tonight, I'm a Rock 'n' Roll Star

I suppose now that summer break has started I can get to work on this blog in earnest. It''l begin with some nifty flash renovation, possibly on my uni server (though the text will in all likelihood stay here), as there a less restrictions on layout... plus those stinkin' ads. Rrrrgh. Me angry.

Everybody's diggin that new Matrix movie, and I guess I did too, though I didn't see it multiple times... meh. Here are my thoughts on it, mainly my philospphical view.

I tried hard to compare the two Matrix movies after seeing the second with Kirill. It's hard, though, until you've seen both within a month... a problem which I quickly rectified. I have got to say, the Matrix has lost all of its grandeur... petty sports drink ads, a companion video game, and the allure of more to come. The first movie was truly something to marvel at- it was revolutionary. The first movie of a new century, the father of modern action films (The brothers who created the Matrix copyrighted the term "Bullet Time"). It's all gone now. I feel as if the movie was never meant to have a sequel. In the end of the first movie, Neo is confident. He knows how it's going to begin, and not even the machines are going to stop him. In the second movie he can fly, sure, but he doesn't really know what to do. He's lost guidance. It's all too... artificial. I just can't accept it. Plug me back into the first one, and leave me in my bliss.

Eh... time to go play the PS2...
